Paceline Podcast 123

Our man Patrick fell down this past weekend while on a mountain bike ride. Slid out and has the road rash souvenir. As crashes go, it’s a minor one, but it has encouraged a bit of reflection. How should one consider the consequences of crashing? And how should consideration of those consequences influence the choices you make if you want to continue to grow as a rider?

Selene checked out the CrossFit Games in Madison, Wisconsin, days ago. Among the many events in which these remarkably developed athletes competed was a criterium. Consider the implications: capable athlete, new tool. It’s also worth noting that CrossFit, as a culture, strikes Selene as being welcoming and inclusive in a way that stands in unfortunate contrast to just how elitist road cycling can be.

Patrick, for a MTB skills upgrade, come and spend a weekend in Whistler at the bike park. Lots of great instruction available. It is something I’ve been meaning to do forever.
