Patrick headed off to Auburn to take in the third annual Tour de Placer Roubaix, a fundraiser for the Placer Foothills mountain bike team, which competes in NICA’s NorCal League. It’s a mixed-surface event of roughly 50 miles and 5700 feet of climbing. He interviewed Dan Tebbs, the owner of the shop that sponsored the ride, Victory Velo.
Next, Patrick and Jake discussed the recent episode of KQED’s show Forum in which the subject of mountain biking and trail access in Marin County was examined by host Michael Krasny and a cadre of guests that included only one mountain bike advocate. It was a veritable celebration of mountain bike misinformation.
With Bike Monkey’s Fishrock just around the corner, we got on the phone with Bike Monkey CEO Carlos Perez to talk about the event. And in our calendar section we gave a bit of a reveal to one of the coolest mountain bike events we’ve heard of, a new spin on Bike Monkey’s Annadel, now called the Homage.
