For those not already tortured by their inability to make the trip (cough, cough), that title refers to the Single-Speed Cyclocross World Championships, which were held this past weekend in Portland. If ever a place could be a perfect home to an event, Portland is to SSCXWC what the Vatican is to Roman Catholicism. It’s just the right mix of zany, muddy, beer and bike race love. Soulmates, if you will.

So while we weren’t able to attend, we were able to snag some terrific shots by a handful of photographers, thanks to Dylan VanWeelden and Singletrack Media Works. This first set is from the qualifiers, on Saturday.
